939 Enhancing Core Surgical Training with the Implementation of Key Performance Indicators: A Closed Loop Quality Improvement Project

Abstract Aim The COVID-19 pandemic has brought innumerable challenges to surgical training, especially with regard theatre opportunities for core trainees. This study aims evaluate the implementation of training-oriented key performance indicators (KPIs) in supporting trainees meet Joint Committee on Surgical Training (JCST) quality training. Method A six-month long closed-loop improvement project. Two KPIs were developed following discussion and departmental leads, evaluation rota, review JCST indicators: theatre/normal-working-day-attendance (T/A) ratio missed-theatre-sessions/normal-working-day-attendance (M/A) ratio.
